“My time wasn’t as fast as I thought it needed to be to win the masters division, so when I found out that I did win it, I was pleasantly surprised. I did notice when I stopped, I watched a few guys go by me. I could tell that none of them were over 40, so that was the good news.”
Among runners 40-45 years old, Vanos finished 30 seconds ahead of the second place finisher in the division.
There were 86 runners listed from Orlando who took part in the race. It included Heather Schulz who finished 10th in the Masters Division for women with a time of 2:59:28.
