As expected, the Florida State-Miami game was the top college football game in the Orlando area as the Seminoles eked out a win.
The Florida State Seminoles’ dramatic win over the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday night was easily the number one most watched college football game in Orlando.
The Seminoles’ 29-24 win over the Hurricanes on ABC primetime garnered 174,654 viewers in Orlando. The game was the second most watched sporting event of the week in Orlando behind only the Sunday Night Football game between the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers.
The Hurricanes-Seminoles game was the fourth most watched television program of the last week in Orlando for the 18-to-49 age demographic group according to Orlando Sentinel’s Hal Boedeker behind only AMC’s Walking Dead, CBS’s Big Bang Theory and NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
The Hurricanes-Seminoles game was the third most viewed college football game in Orlando this season behind the Florida Gators’ win over the Tennessee Volunteers on September 26 and the Gators’ win over the Ole Miss Rebels on October 3.

UCF Football Viewers up Nationally from Last Week
More people watched the UCF Knights getting blown out at home to the Connecticut Huskies on Saturday on ESPNews compared to losing at Tulane the week before. The Knights’ 43-10 loss to the Huskies garnered nationally 111,000 viewers which is up 34 percent from last week’s UCF-Tulane game, which also was on ESPNews and garnered 73,000 viewers.
UConn-UCF Game kicked off at 3:45 p.m. compared to UCF-Tulane which kicked off at noon. UCF will be back on ESPNews on October 24 when the Knights host nationally ranked Houston.
