Uber is joining the craze to ease UCF fans suffering. First time riders can get a free ride until UCF wins.
UCF continues to lose. The Knights are losing football games and losing their coach and losing . . . just about everywhere.
With just four games left in the season — two on the road against Cincinnati this week and Tulsa next week followed by weekday national television games against East Carolina and rival USF — finding the first win seems like a difficult chore.
Getting out to UCF games from the heart of Orlando feels difficult, even if Bright House Networks Stadium provides a decent stadium experience. Those large swaths of empty seats continue to shine UCF in a negative light. Then again, the Knights have not given fans a reason to go.
At least the rides are free now. Just like the beer at The Basement.
Uber reportedly sent an offer to all first time riders of the casual driving service offering free rides using the code “KNIGHTSWIN” until UCF wins its first game, according to Kyle Newport of Bleacher/Report.
Yes, more businesses trying to exploit the depression of UCF fans. And Uber certainly is providing a nice free service to those who go to The Basement during games and take part in the festivities there.
It makes you wonder what else businesses could offer free to go along with UCF football. Maybe Gator’s Dockside can offer a free basket of wings or Hamburger Mary’s could make some sliders for UCF fans looking to eat away their woes.
It is just hard to watch UCF football right now. So fans who do might as well get free stuff for it.
I guess free beer and a free ride home are enough to get things started. And the party when UCF does get to 1-whatever this year (if the team gets there, I guess), will be quite a party.
And then Sunday will be depressing (or Friday as the case may be).
