The Orlando Solar Bears got two of their top scorers back in a callup from the Toronto Marlies. They need it with just two wins in the last 10 games.
The Orlando Solar Bears are struggling right now. They have just two wins in their last 10 games and have just seven points in that 10-game span.
The young squad has just struggled. And it is hard to put a finger on exactly why. Certainly a contributing factor has been all the call ups that have sent some key players to the Toronto Marlies, including separate stints for goalies Rob Madore and Ryan Massa.
The forwards have been depleted too. Reinforcements are coming back down.
After a brief callup, Eric Faille is back with the Solar Bears as is Brett Findlay after a five-game call up.
Faille has led the Solar Bears in scoring with 22 points — 11 goals and 11 assists. Faille had a strong callup, scoring a goal in his lone game.
Findlay spent five games with the Marlies and tallied one assist. He has scored 15 points — eight goals and seven assists. He was called up Nov. 27, the beginning of this 10-game stretch where the Solar Bears have struggled to get wins.
Getting both back will be critical for Orlando to right the ship as the team finishes off three more games on the road before returning home for four of the next five games.
In return, the Marlies recalled Ryan Rupert, who has scored three goals and two assists since being assigned Nov. 28.
Orlando needs all the help it can get at this point and getting some of its best, most skilled players will help the team perform better in its own games at this point.
The Solar Bears have fallen to a tie for last place in the Southeast Division with three more road games due up this week (a trip to Florida on Wednesday and then a weekend pair at Greenville). More division games.
Orlando has some work to do to right the ship and get back on a winning stretch. The Solar Bears were 8-3-1-1 before the past 10 games. Now they are trying to climb out of this hole.
