The interactive arcade-style golfing restaurant Topgolf announced at the PGA Show this week it will open a new location in Orlando near the Orlando Convention Center on International Drive.

Construction is set to begin next month, but the facility will not open until early 2017, Orlando Weekly reports.

Topgolf restaurants offer a unique menu of foods — a sample menu for the Orlando restaurant is already available online and features chicken and waffles, mushi (sushi wrapped in a tortilla rather than seaweed), but are more known for the interactive golf game at the center of the dining experience.

Essentially players got to the restaurant to play a form of golf darts in a setting that is similar to upscale bowling alleys like Splittsville or Kingpin. It is also a large entertainment center with a bar, TVs, pool tables and the like, similar to a Dave & Buster’s or adult arcade.

Topgolf promises the game is fun for both experienced and inexperienced golfers and uses a neat microchip technology on every golf ball to track distances, ranges to target and scores.

It is a really interesting concept and should be an intriguing restaurant and entertainment option for Orlando residents and visitors to the city.
