The Orlando Magic have never been too far from frustration and intrigue this season. From their fast start that left fans full of hope and promise to the huge drop that has left the Magic now outside the Playoff picture — and likely with the record they were expected to have anyway.
It has been a revealing season for the Magic in many, many ways. One that has the team planning and focusing on its future while still evaluating a team trying to win and make the Playoffs.
The team’s recent play has shown the team has somewhat leveled off again. The Magic are playing better and treading water in the Eastern Conference race.
But there are plenty of signs that should concern the team. The defense has continued to slip and be inconsistent. The Magic are not stringing together wins and those late-game bugaboos still rear their head at key moments. It all adds up to a team still trying to find its way and answer some fundamental questions.
March will provide some answers and some sort of definitiveness to these questions. The Magic are on the road for most of the month and battling in that Playoff race. Every game is going to be important.
As the calendar turns to March, I joined Tuck and O’Neill on Sports Talk Florida 1080 AM in Orlando and SportsTalkFlorida.com to talk about the Magic and where they are at this season.
We discussed how the Magic have played of late in their win over the Philadelphia 76ers, the ramifications of their trade deadline deals and who has been the best player on the team so far this season.
You can listen to Tuck and O’Neill every weekday from 3-7 p.m. on Sports Talk Florida 1080 AM in Orlando and streaming online at SportsTalkFlorida.com.
