It was a very competitive week of sports on television that included the Orlando Magic hosting LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando City facing off against rival New York City FC, and the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando.
But Orlando got hooked to March Madness on their TVs.
The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament was Orlando viewers’ choice this week. Saturday’s showdown between Indiana and Kentucky was the most-watched sporting event in Orlando with 76,901 viewers on CBS according to Nielsen. The second most-watched sporting event was also the NCAA Tournament on Saturday with Duke’s win over Yale on CBS garnering 71,820.
The NCAA Tournament overall defeated the Arnold Palmer Invitational head to head in viewers in Orlando. The last time the Arnold Palmer Invitational defeated the NCAA Tournament in viewers in Orlando was in 2013 when Tiger Woods last won the event.
