This Saturday, Florida State’s spring practice will culminate with the annual spring football game complete with cheerleaders, Osceola and Renegade and the band. Of course they will all be in tow this year with Doak Campbell Stadium under renovation.
The Seminoles’ spring game will be at the Orlando Citrus Bowl this year as a special event for the Florida State family as everything gets shipped south from the Panhandle from Tallahassee to Orlando.
The Orlando Citrus Bowl will be packed next Saturday, April 9 at 3 p.m., for the Florida State spring game.
Brendan Sonnone of the Orlando Sentinel reports more than 30,000 tickets have been sold for the exhibition game and practice next Saturday. For reference, that is about how much Orlando City gets for a big game at the Orlando Citrus Bowl. Tickets are still available for $5 before the event and $11 at the door for those that want to attend.
It should be a good showcase for what is likely to be one of the top teams in the country next year. With Dalvin Cook coming back and perhaps a Heisman frontrunner, there will be plenty of talent on the field.
It should also be noted Orlando has become something of a hub for Florida State fans. Seminoles fans pack bars Downtown throughout the season. And Florida State will open its season against Ole Miss on Labor Day at the Citrus Bowl.
It will all start though with Saturday’s spring game. And it is looking like it will have a big crowd.
